What We Did On Our Holiday Is A Box Office Winner In Spain


David Tennant's latest comedy feature film, What We Did On Our Holiday has proved a popular choice for cinema goers in Spain. The movie has attracted 300,000 viewers since its release 7 weeks ago and has grossed 1.9 million Euros ($2.08m / £1.3m).

The movie was released under the title 'Nuestro Ășltimo verano en Escocia' in Spain on Friday 29th May and has been screening in Spanish language, Galacian and Catalan versions. In its opening weekend it earned €406,000 and was the the third most popular movie that week behind Tomorrowland and Pitch Perfect 2.

David Tennant stars as Doug McLeod, a Scot living in London who is divorcing from Abi (Rosamund Pike), the mother of their three children. They want to keep their split a secret from the rest of their family as Doug's father Gordie (Billy Connolly) is unwell; however on a trip back to Scotland for a family celebration they soon find that the children have other ideas and secrets aren't secret for long. The film also stars Ben Miller and Amelia Bullmore and was written and directed by Andy Hamilton and Guy Jenkin, the creators of the BBC comedy show Outnumbered.
