VIDEO: David Tennant On His Young Co-Stars In What We Did On Our Holiday

At the world premiere of the new BBC Films feature What We Did On Our Holiday on Monday evening, star David Tennant had nothing but high praise for the three young actors who play his children.

David plays harassed dad Doug McLeod who is in the middle of a divorce from estranged wife Abi, played by Rosamund Pike. Nevertheless they make the decision to put on a united front and drive up to Scotland to celebrate the 75th birthday of Doug's father Gordie (Billy Connolly). Because of Gordie's ill health they decide to keep news of their split secret, but can their three lively children, played by Emilia Jones, Bobby Smalldridge and Harriet Turnbull, keep from spilling the beans.

"They're so much better than us. They're the stars of the film," said David. "They were fantastic. We felt like a family quite early on, it felt quite easy."
