BAFTA Success For Twenty Twelve And Olivia Colman

Spoof documentary series Twenty Twelve has scooped the British Academy Television Award for Best Situation Comedy. The BBC sitcom which starred Hugh Bonneville, Olivia Colman and Jessica Hynes and was narrated by David Tennant followed the trials of the fictional Olympic Deliverence Committee during the final approach to the 2012 London Games. The show beat off competition from Episodes, The Thick Of It and Hunderby.

There was double BAFTA joy for Olivia Colman. Not only did she win the award for Female Performance In A Comedy Programme for Twenty Twelve (beating Julia Davis, Miranda Hart and her Twenty Twelve co-star Jessica Hynes), she also picked up the Best Supporting Actress award for her role in Accused - Mo's Story

Sadly, Hugh Bonneville missed out on the award for Male Performance In A Comedy Programme to Steve Coogan.
